Arun Thakur
Born and brought up in Manali, Arun actually hails from a small village Chaklaari in Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded by the mountains ever since he was born , he completed all the Mountaineering Courses (Basic, Advanced, Methods of Instructions, Rescue) provided by any institute in India from Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering & Allied Sports(ABVIMAS), Manali with top grades by the time he turned 18! He was awarded the best trainee in Advance Mountaineering Course as well. He has worked as an instructor at ABVIMAS, Manali for 5 years before deciding to be a part of Pinnacle and preach his lessons to the world. He is also a very adept skier and has completed the ski course. He has led all the trekking trips that we provide and many more extensively in Ladakh, Himachal, Uttarakhand, and not surprisingly, he knows the mountains of Lahaul and Spiti like the back of his hand.
He has been on several mountaineering expeditions including but not limited to Friendship, Shetidhar, Ladakhi. Gifted with a brilliant sense of humour and 24x7 smile, he will have you LOL in no time.
Pawan Thakur
Experience knows no bounds with this person. He has probably seen all the different moods of the mountains from the best to the worst. Born and brought up in Manali, Pawan completed all the Mountaineering Courses (Basic, Advanced, Methods of Instructions, Rescue) from Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering & Allied Sports(ABVIMAS), Manali and got the Best Trainee in all of them! Can you believe that! Just like Arun he has worked as an instructor at ABVIMAS, Manali for many years. Being a hardcore mountaineer and always wanting to test himself in the toughest of situations he has led uncountable mountaineering expeditions and few trekking trips as well including the ones that we provide. Few of the ones he has recently done are Mt. Gorichen in Arunchal Pradesh, highest peak of H.P. - Deo Tibba , CB 13, CB 14, Friendship , Shetidhar, Ladakhi, Mt. Norbu , Jagatsukh peak and many more in Himachal, Uttarakhand, Arunachal.
He is a born leader and the moment you listen to him you automatically get drawn to his aura/command. If you have been one of his students in any course then you sure know his authority in the field and if you have not then its still not late.
Hemant Thakur
Hemant is a very special member of the team. He is one of the very few whose educational qualifications go hand in hand with his mountain and adventure qualifications. Born and brought up in Archandi village of Kullu like Tarun, even though Hemant did not do all of his mountaineering courses but he has a Masters in Tourism Administration degree and has also completed both the Basic Mountaineering Course and Skiing course from Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering & Allied Sports(ABVIMAS), Manali. Unlike others who are more into hard ice expedition, Hemant is the trek king in these parts. He has done uncountable treks a lot of which has been done in unexplored territories. Few of the ones he has recently done are Jispa to palmo, chandrakhani, bijli mahadev, choordhar, shrikhand mahadev, bhrigu and LDC camp.
He is more of a preacher and why shouldn't he be when he has got a Masters degree and an immense factual knowledge of mountains, adventure sports and tourism. All the knowledge you gain just by being with him is purely ingenious.
Tarun Thakur
Just like all of our other staff with incredible credentials and experience, Tarun is no less. In fact he has achieved feats which have been possible by only a few others in the mountaineering world. One such feat is completing all the 3 Mountaineering Courses (Basic, Advanced, Methods of Instructions) from Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering & Allied Sports(ABVIMAS), Manali in the same year (2013) and if that was not enough, he also got the Best Rope in two of them! If that doesn't make you trust this person than we don't know what will. Tarun was born in the village of Archandi near Kullu and has been living there ever since. Few of the ones he has recently done are Mt. Friendship and Shetidhar. Tarun has worked with other adventure companies before which means he has a lot of on-the-job experience apart from the mountain experience.
Tarun is a person whose mere presence lifts the spirit of the people around him (evident in the picture) and such mood and spirit enhancing people are very essential in the mountains.
